Biography

I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre (ADRC), Bournemouth University. I have a PhD in Nutrition and Genomics Medicine and am a registered nutritionist.

I have expertise in epigenetics, biostatistics, nutrigenomics, nutrition biochemistry and quantitative research methods. My current research has a strong emphasis on translation for impact and focuses on co-produced multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches to understand the determinants of nutrition and healthy ageing throughout the life course.

I lead on several projects with focus on reducing inequalities and improving healthy ageing in underserved communities. These include an Alzheimer's Research UK funded project investigating the interlinkages between lifestyle factors and dementia risk in minority ethnic communities and a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI/BBSRC/MRC) Food4Years funded project investigating the determinants of inequalities in nutrition and healthy ageing for Black Africans in the UK.
